Working in print is so exciting and takes us away from screens to enjoy our work in the real world.

Communicating the old fashioned way
This project enabled the client to do a bit of old fashioned marketing, with door to door drops, and meet and greet style marketing by saying hello to people in the neighbourhood - face to face (how novel!).
We forget that cafes are often neighbourhood hubs, with real families and communities co-existing in communal spaces, enjoying daily interactions and so marketing at this level ought to reflect that face to face connection.
-
The client needed to reestablish itself after a period of closure and in a new pop up space.
-
In the digital age, we often overlook the power and beauty of print. I wanted to create conversational pieces that graphically showed the spaces we were advertising, in a fun way. It felt in this was a less obvious marketing tool, not as in your face as we see so much, but a subtle welcome and invite, an introduction to a community space that could be enjoyed by all.

Luxe ready made meals, standing out from the crowd.
The client made ready made meals that were full of whole ingredients and immaculately presented. The challenge was to create packaging that reflected the food inside - and stand out from the crowd on a supermarket shelf.
-
The task was to design packaging that was luxe in tone, yet captivating so that shoppers unfamiliar with the brand would be compelled to pause and pick one up on their way home.
-
I needed to create packaging that was practical - when a person picked it up, how would they need to tilt it in order to fully understand it - its ingredients, its weight, how it was made - and similarly when the checkout person went to scan the meal, how could they do so without tipping it (and its wet ingredients) on its side.
